At Aterra Nutrition, we specialize in sustainable nutrition for lifelong wellness. This approach to authentic health is called Intuitive Eating. Intuitive Eating is "THE anti-diet". Our Intuitive Eating coaching and education does not focus on good/bad or healthy/unhealthy qualifiers of food. We support our clients in learning to create flexible eating patterns using gentle nutrition. Our sessions provide respectful, inclusive, and holistic care. We are weight-inclusive, so our services do not revolve around the pursuit of weight loss.

Intuitive Eating is not a diet.
With Intuitive Eating, we use emotion, instinct and rational thought to guide us to a better relationship with food. This definition of a "better relationship" is likely different for everyone. Intuitive Eating can liberate you from a pervasive sense of mental, emotional, and physical restriction. You will have such a sense of pride once you are on your own Intuitive Eating Journey. You will have so much free time and brain space without worrying and tracking every last morsel and step.

Those new to Intuitive Eating often ask... "But what if I still want a smaller body, is Intuitive Eating for me?
Yes, Intuitive Eating (IE) can definitely still be for you. It is totally understandable to still want a smaller or different body, because that is what we are conditioned to believe is "better" due to diet culture and weight stigma in our society. Through your IE coaching sessions with the dietitian, you'll learn why we are actually not healthier if we diet and shrink our body size. You will gain forward momentum through self-compassion and nutrition education to increase your quality of life. Trust me, you'll never want to go back to the dieting world once you dip your toe into Intuitive Eating.
