My Intuitive Eating Journey - Volume 4: Simple Self-Care

Writer's picture: Cristina Luibil, MS, RD, LDNCristina Luibil, MS, RD, LDN

This blog series will showcase how Intuitive Eating has supported my own eating and movement journey, how it has shaped me into the dietitian and person you know today, how it outlines my practice, and how it can help you.

If you’ve been around Down to Earth Nutrition’s social media this year, you may have noticed a monthly “Cristina’s self-care” list. This list was to keep myself accountable with small things that help keep me afloat, and hopefully to help anyone who stumbled upon it with an easy idea of what self-care can be.

It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive (though if you want/have the means, then please go for it!).

Self-care is literally just taking care of yourself, in a way that feels good to you. Intuitive Eating has helped me hone in on my self-care, because it helped bring to light that nourishment is one of the simplest forms of self-care. I always start there - whether it's a specific or vague intention - my first self-care intention is to nourish my body.

Here’s what feels good to me for the autumn season:

🪴Nourishment

🪴Simple movement

🪴Personal enrichment and fulfillment

🪴Professional milestones

🪴Intentional rest

These simple self-care lists have kept me grounded all year.

They’ve also been a way for me to realize I have been taking care of myself and that I have been moving forward.

What about you—How have you been taking care of yourself?

In what ways have you been moving forward?

How do you plan to continue your intentional self-care?

If you're up for it, try picking one thing and starting there. ❤️
